Stoli Orgnls

A REAL FAKE DOCKUMENTARY

When I was contacted by Toronto agency Jacknife to create a short film for the Stoli ORGNLS.TV campaign, I jumped on the chance of trying my hand at humour. I wrote and directed this little piece which, believe it or not, is inspired by true events! The theme of the Stoli Orgnls campaign was "fictional people who live by their own rules."

CHRIS DI MEO SCREEN TEST [0:50]

Chris Di Meo was a lot of fun to work with. He displayed superb athletic ability and was able to do comedy  without over acting.

We shot this screen test in my studio's parking lot and both agreed we could make something funny together.

INSPIRED BY TRUE EVENTS

Years ago, in Old Montreal, after enjoying too much wine, I found myself locked inside the labyrinthine Palais des Congrès. It was in the middle of the night. The doors were locked with no one around. So I followed a distant beep and stumbled upon a security guard playing a makeshift game of tennis (or Pong) with his radio. I watched in amazement for a few minutes before quietly leaving. He seemed to be winning his solitary match, and I didn't want to startle him. This moment of humanity inspired the concept of Radio Tennis
